We have been busy preparing for the Sacrament of Reconciliation with Ms. Coughlan and Mr. Collins. We have done lots of art to decorate the church. We have practiced our songs and prayers. The religion inspector came to us and was so happy we got homework off! We are looking forward to making our first confession on Thursday March 3rd.
Hurling: We had some hurling coaches visit us for 6 weeks. Eoin and Sarah from Parteen GAA came in to school every week to teach us how to hurl and do loads of fun throwing, catching and footwork skills. Many thanks to our coaches.
Reading: We have started reading Horrid Henry stories in school. Lots of us are already Horrid Henry fans and we are enjoying reading more stories as part of our school work. We made our own Horrid Henry characters with mottos.
We have started doing Reading Buddies with Ms. Curtin’s 5th class. The older children are really helpful and we really enjoy having somebody listening to our reading. We are using the new books that were bought by the school this year.
The weather has been really bad. During the breaks when we had to stay inside, many of us have been playing chess, We started simple games with just the pawns. We have been adding extra pieces and now we know how to play with nearly all the pieces. The children who already know how to play have been very helpful to help us all learn the rules of the game.
