In recent weeks we have been constructing rocking chairs out of wooden clothes-pegs in art.
We visited Shannon Airport (thank you Martin Hogan!) and got to experience being in the control tower as planes take off and land. We also got to experience being in the responsible role of an air traffic controller (simulated of course!)
In history we have been learning a lot about the 1916 Rising. We are learning about Joseph Mary Plunkett who got married to his girlfriend Grace the evening before he was executed. We finished reading the Guns of Easter (novel) and are enjoying learning about many new and interesting facts!
Since February we have been training for rugby on the Sean Choill astroturf pitch. It has been great! Thank you to all the teachers who help out. The girls also did really well in a tournament at Thomond RFC recently.
In PE we performed some gymastics routines and partook in hurling coaching sessions organised by Peter Casey from Clare GAA. Peter has shown us many ways to improve our speed and mobility.
Finally, we are putting in a huge effort to prepare for our upcoming Confirmation. We really apreciate the efforts of Mr. Crowe, Ms. Ryan and Ms. Parkinson!
