Ms. Coughlan January\February News

In Second Class we have been very busy preparing for our First Confession Celebration. We are learning lots of special prayers and songs. (Tadhg Smyth and Louis Di Benedetto)

The Religious Inspectors came in to visit our class on Tuesday, the 23rd of February. The lady who visited our class was very impressed with us and we got our homework off! ( Sophie Devlin)
We made lovely chicks and lambs for our First Confession Frieze. We also made special First Confession Posters and clay ‘Beings’. We are looking forward to seeing them all in the church for our First Confession Celebration on Thursday, the 3rd of March. (Conor Callinan, Conor Bermingham and Óran Kennedy)

We celebrated ‘Catholic Schools Week’ during the first week of February. We learned that we are the face of God’s mercy when we are kind and compassionate. We celebrated our Grandparents during that week too, God Bless them. (Robyn Mitchell, Isabel Gaffney and Jack O’Reilly)

We also finished our class reader ‘The Grumpy Teaspoon’ and we started our class novel:  ‘Fantastic Mr. Fox’! We love it! (Éirinn O’Brien)

We started ‘Reading Buddies’ with Ms. O’Donovan’s 5th class. We love reading with our Senior Reading buddies. (Holly Purtill)

For Spring we wrote lovely Spring acrostic poems! We put them outside our classroom for everyone to see!!! (Mary Kate Corkery)

In Maths we learned how to exchange, regroup and rename tens and units when we are subtracting. (Hannah Kieran)

We had great fun doing hurling with Peter , Eoin, Micheál and Sarah. (Liam Considine)

Our motto in Second Class is ‘Time sure flies when we’re having fun!!’ We sure have been very busy in Second Class since the start of the New Year but we’re enjoying every minute of it with Ms. Coughlan, Carmel and Deirdre!
