We have started our novel “I am David”. So far we are enjoying it and find it interesting. It is about a boy named David who has escaped from a concentration camp and has to try and make his way to Denmark. We will have to read and see if he makes it there!
We are very busy preparing for our Confirmation on Tuesday 15th March. We have been practicing our tin-whistle and songs, and preparing art for the day. Thank you to Miss Parkinson for all her help.

We have recently studied the book “The Mysteries of Harris Burdick”. We are having a competition with the 6th class of Cratloe National School. We all wrote a mystery story, based on one of the 14 titles & pictures. A winner will be picked from each school.
We recently went on a trip to Shannon Airport, with Mr. Crowes 6th class. We got see the control tower and listened in to the conversations as they guided a plane taking off. We also learned about Air Traffic Control. Something we learned is that an Air Traffic Controller has to be assessed every year. We got to look in and watch the air traffic controllers at work. They were monitoring the flights on their screens.

The girls recently travelled to Thomond Rugby Club to play a Tag Rugby blitz. We played matches against other schools. It was a great fun day.
We have begun preparations in learning about the 1916 Rising, and what Ireland was like in the 1900’s. We are looking forward to learning even more about it.
