In Ms. Ryan’s class, we are busy preparing for Confirmation on April 4th.
We have been practicing all our songs, prayers and tin-whistle tunes in preparation for our big day. We are all looking forward to it.
We have recently entered a narrative writing competition with 6th class in Cratloe. Our stories are based on ” The Mysteries of Harris Burdick”, by Chris Van Allsburg. We each got a different story title and wrote our own version of events of what we believed happened. We are currently reading the stories from Cratloe and we are thoroughly enjoying them.
In P.E we have just completed our gymnastics. We learned lots of different solo and group balances. We also managed the cartwheel. It was tricky at first, but with lots of practice we succeeded. We then put together a sequence for the class, in our groups.
We are currently reading our novel “I Am David”. It has been very enjoyable so far, following the journey that David has taken. We are hoping that after all his hardship, he finally finds happiness.
Ms. Ryan is also reading us the story of “The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas”. It gives us a real insight into what life was really like for everyone during that time. We have based a lot of our drama pieces on this. We have taken on the role of different characters in the story, and acted out various scenes in our groups.
In our Gaeilge we have managed to complete all our “Briathra Neamhrialta” and we are using them in our written pieces in all the different tenses! We also recently celebrated Lá le Pancóga in our class! D’ithemar pancóga seacláide. Bhí siad an-bhlasta!
